Charging the batterie

Learn more about how to charge your battery and what safety protocols to follow.

Selection of a suitable location for charging

Please observe the following notes when selecting the charging location:

  • The battery should be charged in a cool and dry place where it is not directly exposed to sunlight. A stone floor is ideal for charging.
  • Connect the charger only to a properly installed electrical outlet.
  • Do not operate the charger on highly flammable surfaces (e.g. paper, textiles, wood, etc.). Only charge the battery when it is dry and in a fire-safe location away from flammable objects.
  • If you are not using the charger, cleaning it or if a malfunction occurs, disconnect the main plug from the socket.
  • If the charger connections are dirty, clean them with a dry, clean cloth.
  • Inspect the charger, cables and connectors before each use. Do not use the charger if you notice any damage. Do not open the charger.

To charge the battery

Always connect the charger to an electrical outlet before connecting the battery to the charger. Once your charger is connected to a power outlet, the status LED on the charger turns orange. Your battery has two charging modes: fast-charging and slow-charging.

Fast Charging

Fast-charging mode charges your battery from 0-80% in 1 hour and 20 minutes and from 0-100% in 2 hours. Start the fast charging process as follows:

Step 1: Plug the charger into a power outlet. The status LED should now be orange.

Step 2: First, plug the orange and black power contacts into the corresponding sides of the battery.

Step 3: Now connect the data connector to the battery. The status LED should now flash green slowly (battery <80% full) or quickly (battery >80% full). The current state of charge is indicated on the battery display in 20% increments via a running light.

As soon as the LED on the charger is permanently green, the battery is fully charged and the battery display goes out to save energy. After that, the charge status of the battery can be checked as usual at any time by briefly pressing the function key on the battery.

Slow charging

In slow charge mode, your battery will charge from 0-100% in 5 hour and 30 minutes.

Slow charging protects the battery and extends its life. In addition, it may be useful to slow charge the battery when the wall outlet does not provide enough power for fast charging (e.g., mobile outlets in vehicles or multiple chargers on the same circuit). Start slow charging as follows:

Step 1: Plug the charger into a power outlet. The status LED should now light up orange.

Step 2: First, plug the orange and black power contacts into the corresponding sides of the battery. Now connect the data connector to the battery. The status LED should now flash green slowly (battery <80% full) or quickly (battery >80% full). The current charge level is indicated by a running light on the battery display in 20% increments.

Step 3: Now press the function key on the battery for 3 seconds within 60 seconds after connecting the battery. The running light on the battery continues to flash at the same speed as when it was connected.

As soon as the LED on the charger is permanently green, the battery is fully charged and the battery indicator goes out to save energy. After that, the charge status of the battery can be checked as usual at any time by briefly pressing the function key on the battery.

State of charge display

You can check the current charge status of the battery by briefly pressing the function key on the battery for less than 3 seconds. The current charge status of the battery is then displayed via the 5 LED lamps as follows:
