Charging the Battery

Find out more about how to charge your battery and what safety protocols to watch our for.

Selecting a Suitable Location for Charging

Please observe the following instructions when choosing a location to charge:

  • Your battery should be charged in a cool and dry place where it is never directly exposed to the sunlight. A stone floor is ideal for charging.
  • Only connect the charger to a properly installed socket.
  • Do not operate the charger on easily inflammable surfaces (e.g. paper, textiles, wood, etc.). Only charge the battery when it is dry and in a fire-safe place away from flammable objects.
  • If you are not using the charger, cleaning it, or if a malfunction occurs, disconnect the power plug from the socket.
  • If the charger connections become dirty, clean them with a dry, clean cloth.
  • Check the charger, cables and plugs before each use. Do not use the charger if you notice any damage. Do not open the charger.

How to Charge the Battery

Always connect you charger to a power outlet before connecting your battery to the charger. Once your charger is connected to a power socket, the status LED on the charger will light up orange. Your battery has two charging modes: fast-charging and slow-charging.

Fast-Charging

In the fast-charging mode, your battery will charge from 0-80% in 1 hour and 20 minutes and from 0-100% in 2 hours. Start fast-charging as follows:

Step 1: Plug the charger into a power socket. The status LED should now light up orange.

Step 2: First, plug the orange and black power contacts on to the matching sides on the battery.

Step 3: Now, connect the data plug to the battery. The status LED should now start flashing green slowly (battery <80% full) or quickly (battery >80% full). The current charge level is shown on the battery display in 20% increments via a running light.

As soon as the LED on the charger is permanently glowing green, the battery is fully charged and the battery display goes out to save energy. After that, the charge status of the battery can be checked as usual at any time by briefly pressing the function button on the battery.

Slow-Charging

In the slow-charging mode, your battery will charge from 0-80% in 1 hour and 20 minutes and from 0-100% in 5 hours and 30 minutes.

Slow charging protects the battery and extends its lifetime. In addition, it may be useful to slow charge the battery if the power outlet cannot provide enough power for fast charging (possibly with mobile power outlets in vehicles or multiple chargers on the same circuit). Start slow charging as follows:

Step 1: Plug the charger into a socket. The status LED should now light up orange.

Step 2: First, plug the orange and black power contacts on to the matchings sides on the battery. Now, connect the data plug to the battery. The status LED should now start flashing green slowly (battery <80% full) or quickly (battery >80% full). The current charge level is shown on the battery display in 20% increments via a running light.

Step 3: Now press the function button on the battery for 3 seconds within 60 seconds after connecting the battery. The running light on the battery now slows down.

As soon as the LED on the charger is permanently glowing green, the battery is fully charged and the battery display goes out to save energy. After that, the charge status of the battery can be checked as usual at any time by briefly pressing the function button on the battery.

Charging Status Display

You can check the current charge level of the battery by shortly pressing the function button on the battery for less than 3 seconds. The battery's current charge level is then displayed via the 5 LED-lamps as follows:
