Follow our short-term storage and general maintenance instructions to keep your e-tron foil in mint condition.
Short-Term Storage of the Board and Foil
- Your e-tron foil is not suitable for water-storage and it must thus be removed from the water after each operation. Moreover, when using your e-tron foil in salt water it is necessary to rinse all components (except for the battery) thoroughly with fresh water after each ride before storing them. Do not forget to also rinse the drive-unit by flushing it with fresh water.
- Never use harsh or abrasive cleaning agents such as cold cleaners or rim cleaners to clean your board or any of the e-tron foil's associated components. Moreover, do not use compressed air or high-pressure cleaners to avoid damaging the paint and seals. Use a clean, lint-free cloth to clean and wipe dry your board, mast, wings, battery compartment cavities, and any sealing surfaces.
- Your board and foil should be fully disassembled and stored away in the transportation bags after each usage to ensure that it stays in mint condition and is not damaged during transport.
Short-Term Storage of the Battery
Store your battery in a cool and dry place where it is protected from damage and unauthorised access. Store your battery in a place where it is never directly exposed to sunlight. One or more batteries must not be stored in a box or drawer where they may short-circuit each other or be short-circuited by other conductive materials.
- Do not store the battery in the battery compartment of your e-tron foil.
- Try to keep on the red power-contact protection covers whenever possible. Remove them only shortly before connecting your battery to the charger or board, and re-attach them immediately after detaching your battery from the charger or board.
- Never immerse the battery in water or clean it with a water jet.
- If your battery is dirty or sandy, clean it carefully with a damp, soft cloth and blow away any sand remains. Never use compressed air or high-pressure cleaners.
- If the battery connections become dirty, clean them with a dry, clean cloth.
- Do not expose the battery to moisture (water, rainwater, snow, etc.) during either short- or long-term storage.
- Your battery can be storage at a temperature between 0-25°C and at a humidity of less than 65%. To achieve optimum battery life, your battery should be stored at a temperature between 18-23°C and a humidity between 0-65%.
