Pairing The Remote Control

Read our instructions and watch our video for quick and easy instructions on how to pair a new or existing remote control to your e-tron foil.

When do I have to pair my remote control?

Pairing your remote control manually to your board is necessary in the following cases:

    • before you use your e-tron foil for the first time.
    • after a software update and/or service case.
    • if you used your remote control with another e-tron foil.

How to pair the remote control with a new or existing board?

Before you start the pairing process, make sure that your board is fully assembled and that the battery is sitting in the battery compartment. For the pairing process, the battery should not be connected yet and the battery compartment should remain open.

Step 1: turn on your remote control, by briefly pressing the function button (the one in the middle) for 2 seconds.

Step 2: press and hold the function button until the screen layout changes and you see the "Settings" menu item in the center of the screen. Select "Settings" by pressing the function button. Now, select the sub-item "Pairing". To start a new pairing, select the option "Pair new Board".

Step 3: now follow the instructions that appear on the display:

  • Pop-up window with instructions 1 : "Connect the battery and close the battery compartment lid" - To connect the battery, first attach the two power cables (orange and black) to the same-coloured connection points on the battery. You will feel and hear a clear "click" if the cables are connected properly. Then, connect the data cable firmly (you will not feel and hear a "click" for the data cable). Finally, close the battery compartment and wait 10 seconds for the next set of instructions to pop up.
  • Pop-up window with instructions 2: "Open the battery compartment and wait for 10 seconds" - open the battery compartment and wait 10 seconds for the next set of instructions to pop up.
  • Pop-up window with instructions 3: "Close the battery compartment" - after closing the battery compartment again, the pairing process is finished. If the pairing process is successful, a pop-up window ("Pairing successfully finished") appears for confirmation.
