If you intend to store your e-tron foil for longer periods of time, please read and follow the subsequent procedure.
Storing your e-tron foil and all of its associated components such as the battery and hydrofoil for longer periods of time (>4 weeks) requires a few extra steps in addition to the standard procedure.
Long-Term Storage of the Board and Foil
As with the regular storage, you should rinse your board and all other components (mast, wings, remote control) thoroughly with fresh water after each usage and before storing them, regardless of short- or long-term storage. If your board and all other components are already clean, there is no need to repeat this process.
Ensure that all parts, especially the board's deck pad and cavities, are dry and stored away in the included transportation bags.
Long-Term Storage of the Battery
In addition to the Short-Term Storage and General Maintenance instructions, please follow the subsequent additional instructions for the long-term storage of your e-tron foil battery.
General Notes
Make sure that the red power-contact protection covers are on before storing your battery. As with short-term storage, ensure that the battery is clean and dry before storing it for longer periods. If necessary, clean the battery carefully with a damp, soft cloth.
For long-term, the charge level of the battery should optimally be between 30% and 60% (2 LEDs light up after pressing the function button on the battery).
Ideally, you should check the battery's charge level every 4 weeks and recharge it if necessary. You should avoid completely discharging the battery.
Charging to the Storage Voltage
Step 1: find a suitable location to charge and connect your charger to a power socket.
Step 2: press the function button on the battery for >10 seconds. The two lower LEDs should now flash synchronously.
Step 3: connect the charger to the battery within 60 seconds after completing step 2.
The charger will now charge up to the predefined storage voltage and then switch off automatically.
Discharging to the Storage Voltage
If your battery is already fully charged, there is a simple and quick way that it can be discharged to the predetermined storage voltage.
Step 1: press the function button on the battery for >10 seconds. The battery will now discharge itself until the predetermined storage voltage is reached (indicated this by a discharged running light). Once the battery has reached the storage voltage, it will turn off automatically (Discharging time up to 14 days).
Where to Store Your Battery
Store your battery in a cool and dry place where it is protected from damage and unauthorised access. Store your battery in a place where it is never directly exposed to sunlight. One or more batteries must not be stored in a box or drawer where they may short-circuit each other or be short-circuited by other conductive materials.
Your battery can be storage at a temperature between 0-25°C and at a humidity of less than 65%. To achieve optimum battery life, your battery should be stored at a temperature between 18-23°C and a humidity between 0-65%.
Long-Term Storage of the Remote Control
A battery level between 20-30% is recommended for storing the remote control. Store the battery in the designated place in the drive bag.
